In 2015, Knomos received nearly $700,000 from the Canada Media Fund, a federal government program that funds interactive digital media projects, to develop a public-facing legal resource.
In 2016, Knomos was selected to be part of the Microsoft Accelerator in Seattle. Access to Microsoft AI technology is helping the company move toward actionable data visualizations, and applied machine learning approaches.
In 2016, Knomos was also named to MaRS’ Work & Learning Cluster dedicated to building high-growth ventures that are radically reshaping the way we acquire knowledge and put it to good use.
In 2014, the founders submitted a project abstract to the University of McGill Dobson Cup start-up competition, making it to the final round of 15 teams out of 150+ entrants. An initial Proof-Of-Concept (POC) of the platform—then called Project Cumulus— was developed and showcased as part of this effort.
