Thompson Rivers University
Knomos first worked with Professor Katie Sykes at TRU Law in the fall of 2015. Our co-founder Adam went to Kamloops to speak with the Lawyering in the 21st Century class about how emerging technologies were changing the legal industry and creating new possibilities in legal entrepreneurship.
Over the past 2 years, this initial partnership has evolved into Knomos becoming an integrated legal research & study tool for 1st year Property Law students:
I’ve been using Knomos in the classroom to help law students build their skills at working in detail with complicated cases and legislation. It is a fantastic tool.
Students can make and save their own notes and highlighting on the cases, and get a visual picture of how cases and statutes relate to one another. There’s nothing else that enables them to do this so easily and intuitively.

In the spring 2017, Knomos also acted as an advisor to student building legal apps to improve access to justice by helping leading organizations better serve their clients.

Direct user testing and student feedback has enabled Knomos to rapidly iterate as we continue to improve our product offering to meet the specific needs of our target users, both as students and new professionals.
